Mitral Valve Prolapse

Few yrs back... i discovered that having irregular heartbeat.. therefore, i went for ECG, ECHO & stress check up at Medical centre... feeling wierd when i stepped in to the hospital as i am the youngest to c the cardiologist... can i say that the awareness of heart disease among youngsters are low or i am the abnormal one? whatever la... and the results are, one of the ventricle 'opening' is bigger than normal ppl.. that leads to my irregular heartbeat..
'Mitral valve prolapse, also known as click-murmur syndrome, Barlow's syndrome, balloon mitral valve, or floppy valve syndrome, is the bulging of one or both of the mitral valve flaps (leaflets) into the left atrium during the contraction of the heart. One or both of the flaps may not close properly, allowing the blood to leak backward (regurgitation). This regurgitation may result in a murmur (abnormal sound in the heart due to turbulent blood flow). Mitral regurgitation (backward flow of blood), if present at all, is generally mild. Mitral valve prolapse is the most common form of valvular heart disease, occurring in 2 percent to 6 percent of the population.'http://oscar.med.yale.edu/Greystone/content.asp?pageid=P00229
i was kinda worry on that time.. and the doctor gave me the medicine to bring along with me and to be consume when i am hving abnormal heartbeat.. and he told me to live as normal ppl, with regular exercise + dont consume too much of caffeine...

"Persons with rhythm disturbances may need to be treated with beta blockers or other medications to control tachycardias (fast heart rhythms). In most cases, limiting stimulants such as caffeine and cigarettes is all that is needed to control symptoms." http://oscar.med.yale.edu/Greystone/content.asp?pageid=P00229

luckily.. i never consume the red medicine that he gave me these few years.. as the heartbeat is back to normal.. but i will always don get myself too tired.. as i scared i will face palpitation again....

recently i planning to purchase insurance for myself... and too bad i hv to went for check up in order to get the prove from cardiologist that i am free from MURMUR... murmur means an abnormal sound heard on listening to the heart, usually through a stethoscope, produced by the blood passing through deformed cardiac valves... and doctor Yoon wrote, no murmur TODAY.. ECG & ECHO recommended... but too bad, the insurance company refuse to let me to do the test, as it is quite expensive.. they do not want to bear the cost... so end up, they jz cover the RM190 consultation fees... and the conclusion is, i can buy the insurance, but EXCLUDE my HEART.... :(- sigh.... i will go for check up at my own cost in future, perhaps once in a year, and submit the CLEAN report to the insurance company to appeal to take out the EXCLUSION from my policy.. so ppl arnd me told me, your purpose of buying insurance is to cover your heart, as your heart has higher risk than other part of the body / organ to have problem, if the insurance company do not cover your heart, then what is the purpose you buying? as according to online article, treatment is not usually necessary as MVP is rarely a serious condition. Regular check-ups with a physician are advised. This condition is usually harmless and does not shorten life expectancy. Healthy lifestyle behaviors and regular exercise are encouraged. so means this is not so serious and there is chances for other insurance company to have full cover of me, right?

so wish me become a healthy baby :D
